The idea that the Bible, especially the Old Testament, contains hidden messages and even predictions is often dismissed. Yet, some of these alleged messages have seemingly come true, making them worth a closer look.
Deciphering the Bible Code involves using an Equidistant Letter Sequence (ELS), a pattern that highlights specific letters in the text. The authenticity of the Bible Code is still debated. If this ancient text holds messages of the future, who put them there and why?
Revelations About the Moon 700 Years Before Modern Science
In the thirteenth century, Rabbi Bachya Ben Asher used ELS methods to make remarkable revelations about the moon. He would highlight four letters, skip 42, highlight four more, and so on.
Rabbi Bachya revealed that the Bible Code indicated the moon’s cycle was precisely 29.53 days. This detail, confirmed by modern science in 1996, suggested the Bible Code might be surprisingly accurate.
This confirmation was mind-blowing, but an earlier event had already brought the Bible Code to global attention.
Assassination of Yitzhak Rabin Predicted More Than a Year Earlier
On November 4, 1995, Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated by Yigal Amir. Rabin’s work on a peace deal was believed to be the motive, shocking the world. However, Rabin had been warned in a letter over a year before, sparking interest in the Bible Code.
Investigative journalist Michael Drosnin claimed to have predicted the assassination by studying the Bible Code. He stated the exact date and the assassin’s name.
Rabin ignored the warning and was killed as predicted, altering the course of history.
Peer-Reviewed Research of Eliyahu Rips, Doron Witztum, and Yoav Rosenberg
Michael Drosnin was drawn to the Bible Code through the work of Eliyahu Rips, Doron Witztum, and Yoav Rosenberg in the mid-1980s. Using ELS, they revealed information and apparent predictions.
The prediction of Yitzhak Rabin’s death brought the Bible Code to wider attention, but it was Rips, Witztum, and Rosenberg’s work that made the academic world consider its authenticity. They used advanced computer programs to analyze sequences quickly and accurately.
Rips began further experiments, leading to remarkable predictions. However, the initial studies first brought their work to academic attention.
The Great Rabbi Experiment and the “30 Rabbis” Tests
In the Great Rabbi Experiment, a computer program searched for the names of 30 famous Rabbis born after the Old Testament was written. Amazingly, the computer found every one.
Using a matrix grid technique, the rabbis’ dates of birth and death were also discovered. This experiment was repeated with different rabbis, and each time, the program found them with their birth and death dates.
When tested on War and Peace, the program failed to find any rabbis. The findings were presented in Statistical Science, leading Rips to investigate future events using the Bible Code.
Prediction of Saddam’s “Russian Missile” Strike in January 1991
Rips searched for Saddam Hussein’s name in early January 1991. The program found Hussein’s name and claimed he would launch an attack against Israel within weeks, using a Russian missile.
On January 18, 1991, Saddam Hussein ordered a missile strike against Israel with a Russian missile.
Michael Drosnin then contacted Eliyahu Rips, and throughout the 1990s, they made further discoveries in the Old Testament.
The Moon Landing Found in the Book of Genesis
In Genesis, when Abraham is told to “look now toward Heaven and count the stars,” Rips and Drosnin found “spaceship” and “Apollo 11,” along with the date, July 20, 1969.
That date marks Apollo 11’s moon landing, the first time humans set foot on another world. This was further proof of the Bible Code’s authenticity for Rips and Drosnin.
Drosnin became convinced of genuine information and predictions within the ancient text, leading them to continue coding through the Old Testament.
Details of The Shoemaker-Levy Comet’s Collision with Jupiter
On July 16, 1994, the Shoemaker-Levy comet collided with Jupiter, visible from Earth. This impact was also predicted in the Bible Code.
The name of the comet and the date of the impact were allegedly discovered. Furthermore, the phrase “will pound Jupiter” was found, referencing the comet’s collision.
The revelation was made public two months before the collision, captivating those who took such predictions seriously.
The Prediction of the Oklahoma Bombing and Other Atrocities
On April 19, 1995, Timothy McVeigh bombed the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, killing 168 and injuring hundreds. This act was also supposedly contained within the Bible Code.
The words Oklahoma and Murrah were present, as well as “his name was Timothy.” While compelling, many remained cautious.
Other predictions included the Twin Towers attacks, the fall of Saddam Hussein, and the capture and death of Osama Bin Laden.
The Libya Nuclear Attack (That Wasn’t)
One of the most intriguing discoveries was the prediction of Muammar Qadafi launching a nuclear strike from Libya. Authorities seemed to pay close attention to this prediction.
Rips and Drosnin found “Libya,” “Atomic Holocaust,” and the date January 27, 1996. They informed authorities, who officially dismissed it, but some suggest dialogue occurred behind closed doors.
On that date, Qadafi declared that Arab nations had the right to hold nuclear weapons. Some questioned whether this resulted from speculative dialogue, affecting the subsequent fallout.
The Missing Stone Pillar and Suggestions of Alien Technology
Many predictions didn’t come true, affecting the Bible Code’s credibility. Rips distanced himself from the code, but Drosnin continued until his death in 2020.
Drosnin claimed a stone pillar in Jordan contained inscriptions on unlocking the Bible Code. He sought permission to excavate it but was denied.
Drosnin concluded that an “intelligence,” likely extraterrestrial or from another time, inserted the code using an advanced computer system. He believed an advanced system is needed to fully unlock it without the pillar.
The Bible Code remains a fascinating and controversial topic, blending ancient texts with modern technology to suggest hidden messages.
