Randonautica, the app that calls itself “the world’s first & only quantumly generated Create Your Own Adventure app,” sends users to randomly generated coordinates. While the idea of exploring the unknown is exciting, sometimes these adventures turn sketchy. The app asks users about their “intentions,” and then, users say, it seemingly produces those desires out of thin air. The internet is filled with stories of creepy and unsettling discoveries made through Randonautica. Here are ten times Randonautica took a dark turn.

10 A Shooting Victim

randonautica | Scary TikTok Compilations

A teenager named Mykena shared a tearful video on TikTok after a Randonautica quest. She explained she would never go Randonauting again. Mykena’s intention was “death,” and the app led her to a spot where she found a body on the ground, bleeding. It was a 23-year-old shooting victim, still alive, who was then rushed to a nearby hospital.

9 A Trap House

Police Came - Randonautica Took Me To A Crime Scene!

The YouTube channel Exploring With Josh posted a video titled “Police Came – Randonautica Took Me To A Crime Scene!” The YouTubers trespassed on private property and explored an abandoned house. The abandoned house appeared to be partially inhabited by squatters. This raises the question: when will Randonautica send someone to a house that is occupied by someone who is not quite welcoming to intruders?

8 Coffins. A Few Times.

(Police Called) RANDONAUTICA IS TERRIFYING - REAL CASKET FOUND IN THE WOODS

Randonautica users have been led to inexplicable, empty coffins in the middle of nowhere. One YouTuber stumbled upon a single coffin in the woods. Another TikToker, chris.sees.ghosts, filmed a Randonautica trip that led him to a field full of coffins, some with inward-facing stakes. It’s a chilling discovery with no clear explanation.

7 “Are You Real?”

Randonautica Hype Explained

TikToker frozenmeals posted a video of a Randonautica trip to a detention center. One of the girls received a text from an anonymous number asking, “Are you real?” Nearby, graffiti read “REAL.” The combination of the location and the mysterious message created an unsettling experience.

6 Saved? Or Scammed?

shop burned down

A Reddit user shared a photo of their burned-down shop after a 3 a.m. Randonautica adventure. The user’s post title speaks volumes: “Went randonauting last night at 3 a.m. Came back to my shop burned down.” They pondered if Randonautica had led them away to facilitate arson or saved their life from an attack. The timing was suspicious, raising questions about the app’s influence.

5 Nick Crowley Investigates

The Dark World of Randonautica

YouTuber Nick Crowley, known for his true crime investigations, tried Randonautica and was led to an active crime scene. Police vehicles swarmed the specified location. It was clear that something serious had occurred at the exact spot Randonautica directed him to.

4 The “Science”

The Truth about "Scary" Randonautica: a Talk with the App's Creator

The creators of Randonautica claim the app is based on quantum physics and allows users to influence its random number generator with their thoughts. Experts disagree. A physicist told The New York Times, “completely absurd… There is no quantum physics here. This is just people using big science words to sound magical.”

3 A Dangerous Conspiracy

TikTok, Randonautica and a Viral Conspiracy : Meet Detective Randonaut

Randonautica’s combination of randomness and mysticism has attracted obsessive users. One user, Reve Kalell, started a series of TikTok investigations into a hypothetical child-trafficking ring. He and his followers connected random businesses to justify their belief. One example was a toy manufacturer that makes Star Trek-themed toys, specifically Tribbles. This was connected to child-slaves being unable to reproduce.

2 “This Is the Sign You’re Looking For”

RANDONAUTICA APP - real or fake?

Many Randonautica users have found graffiti or text that says, “This Is the Sign You’re Looking For.” Users have been led to similar inspirational writing. The repetition of this theme across multiple videos raises questions. It suggests the possibility of manipulated experiences.

1 Bodies in a Suitcase

Teens Find Body in Suitcase While Using Adventure App

The most famous scary Randonautica experience involves Seattle teenagers finding two dead bodies stuffed into a suitcase. Randonautica led the teens to a rocky shoreline. They opened the suitcase expecting money but found trash bags and a strong odor. Police confirmed the suitcase contained human remains, both homicide victims.

Randonautica can lead to unsettling and even dangerous situations. These stories serve as a reminder to exercise caution and critical thinking when exploring the unknown.
