10. “You were right about that too.”

Suzan Saxman, author of The Reluctant Psychic, discusses her beliefs about her own psychic abilities

Suzan Saxman, a psychic from Woodstock, New York, often experienced unsettling visions. She recounts in her book, The Reluctant Psychic, an encounter with a man amidst a difficult divorce. He doubted his wife would see it through. Suzan’s vision was stark: no court battle, no split, but he would gain sole custody of his daughter in seven years.

The following week, the man’s wife visited Suzan, initially mocking the prediction. Days later, tragedy struck. Her husband and his friend died in a small plane crash during a business trip. Exactly seven years passed, and the woman returned to Suzan. With tears, she shared that her daughter had passed away from leukemia. She confirmed Suzan’s words: “You were right about that too. He has sole custody of her now.”

9. A Sense of Foreboding

Kathleen Middleton’s first brush with the unexplainable happened when she was seven. An egg levitated from her mother Annie’s frying pan. Annie, worried, consulted a fortune-teller who interpreted it as an omen of imminent death. Soon after, one of Annie’s closest friends died. This marked the beginning for Kathleen, who later found she’d get headaches before earthquakes and experience visions of names and numbers.

On October 21, 1966, Kathleen, then 52, awoke choking, overwhelmed by a terrible sense of foreboding. Her bedroom walls felt like they were closing in. She couldn’t shake the feeling of impending doom. Just hours later, a colossal mound of coal waste, loosened by heavy rain, cascaded down a hillside, engulfing Pantglass Junior School in the Aberfan valley. The disaster claimed 144 lives, including 116 children, leaving South Wales in profound grief.

8. Losing Their Heads

French Revolution - The execution of Louis XVI

In 1788, during a Parisian salon dinner, French author and occultist Jacques Cazotte made a shocking prophecy. He foretold that King Louis XVI would meet his demise during the coming revolution. He didn’t stop there, adding that many aristocrats, some present that evening, would face beheading, poisoning, or suicide.

The French Revolution erupted in May 1789, and Cazotte’s grim predictions began to materialize. Nobles were executed one by one. Four years later, King Louis XVI himself was guillotined before a large Parisian crowd. Ironically, Cazotte did not witness this, as he had been executed by guillotine the previous year, denounced as a royalist.

7. A Devastating Plague

The worst pandemic in South African history! (Lessons for Covid-19?)

Nicolaas Pieter Johannes Janse van Rensburg, born in South Africa in 1864, was said to have read only the Bible and experienced over 700 visions in his lifetime. Known as “Siener” Van Rensburg, he became a trusted advisor to General Koos de la Rey during the Boer War, who saw him as a prophet.

Van Rensburg, though part of the war effort, never carried a weapon. His prophecies often helped in evading or outmaneuvering enemies. In early 1918, he had a vision of a terrible “plague” that would spare no country, including South Africa. In September of that year, the Spanish Flu arrived on South African shores, claiming 140,000 lives in just seven weeks. The global pandemic ultimately killed an estimated 40 million people.

6. “I did it anyway.”

Crashed small plane in a swampy area

Mike Fridley felt an overwhelming sense of dread about an upcoming trip with his friend Graham Wood in November 1999. It was an unusually strong premonition, a voice in his head screaming at him not to go. Despite this, he suppressed the feeling and went on the trip.

This decision proved disastrous. Wood’s small plane suffered engine failure, and they crashed into the Everglades. Fridley managed to pull Wood from the wreckage onto the wing, away from pooling gasoline. Wood had a broken back, while Fridley suffered a broken ankle and sternum. Despite his injuries, Fridley waded through chest-deep water for about 1,000 feet to a fishing camp to find drinking water. Sadly, he couldn’t make it back to Wood due to the excruciating pain. The next day, helicopter pilots spotted him. Fridley was rescued, but Wood had already passed away at the crash site.

5. Right on the Number

Damaged train after a railway collision

In 1981, a clairvoyant reached out to British Rail with an urgent warning. She’d had a recurring vision of a deadly train crash involving one of their blue engines, number 47216, hauling oil tankers. Managers, aware of her previous assistance to the police, took her warning seriously and had the train’s number changed to 47299.

In December 1983, the newly numbered 47299 train, indeed hauling an oil train, collided with another train (a DMU) at Wrawby Junction. The crash resulted in one fatality. Investigators concluded that a mix of equipment failure and human error was to blame. The incident was later described as an “amazing coincidence.”

4. A Feeling of Dread

Pizza box on a car windshield, symbolizing an accident

On the afternoon of March 17, 1999, Carol Deemer was overcome by a strange, unsettling feeling. She couldn’t shake the sense that something terrible had occurred. When her husband, James, came home, she shared her anxiety, noting their 17-year-old daughter, Jennifer, wasn’t home yet and hadn’t made her usual call.

As Carol spoke, James had a fleeting thought of a car accident. Soon after, their worst fears were confirmed. Jennifer had been driving home from school when a passenger in her car threw a pizza box out the window. The box unfortunately stuck to her windshield, causing Jennifer to lose control and swerve into oncoming traffic. Her car collided head-on with another vehicle. Jennifer died instantly, and her four passengers were injured, along with two people in the other car.

3. Saved from a Tragic Fate

House engulfed in flames at night

In late August 2013, 11-year-old Marie Elias couldn’t shake the feeling that something bad would happen if she fell asleep. It was a Saturday night, and Marie was determined to stay awake to confront whatever was coming. Her family home, shared with her parents and 17 other relatives, had no smoke detectors.

Around 1:30 in the morning, as Marie lay on her bed fighting off sleep, she detected a burning smell emanating from the wall nearest to her. She immediately alerted her parents. Thanks to her premonition and quick action, everyone inside the house managed to escape the ensuing fire unharmed. Her vigilance likely saved many lives that night.

2. “It’s an experience you can’t explain.”

Woman in a hospital bed with family visiting

In 1984, Viv Donovan had a peculiar dream while staying in an apartment in her parent’s backyard. She dreamt she was sitting up in bed, arms outstretched, with her entire family in front of her, but no one to her left. Astonishingly, her father revealed he’d had a parallel dream of looking at Viv in that exact pose, surrounded by family.

Though unsettling, they soon forgot about it. A month later, Viv suffered a burst ovarian cyst, leading to appendicitis. She was rushed to the hospital, where doctors saved her life, remarking that even a 20-minute delay would have been fatal. Precisely one month after her dream, Viv found herself sitting up in her hospital bed, welcoming her family. She stretched her arms out, and her family gathered around, just as in her dream, with no one to her left. It was her first time ever being hospitalized for treatment. This wasn’t Viv’s only precognitive experience; at age nine, she’d awoken knowing her father was in trouble, found him having a severe asthma attack, and called an ambulance, saving his life.

1. Thirteen Tears

Rachel Scott, a 17-year-old student at Columbine High School, was deeply devoted to her Christian faith and openly lived it, which sometimes led to ridicule and bullying. She kept a diary detailing her struggles and her reliance on her faith.

Rachel was the first victim murdered by Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold in the 1999 Columbine massacre. Rumors circulated that she was targeted for her faith, with some accounts claiming Klebold asked her if she still believed in God before fatally shooting her. While this specific exchange is debated, a chilling discovery was made in her diary. Shortly before the shooting, Rachel had drawn a picture: a pair of eyes shedding 13 tears that flowed down to a rose, transforming into drops of blood. Tragically, 13 people were killed by Harris and Klebold that day. It’s also reported that a month after Rachel’s death, a stranger named Frank Amedia contacted her father, describing a dream he had about Rachel’s eyes and tears, though he couldn’t discern what the tears watered. The meaning became clear when Rachel’s father received her backpack, containing the journal with this final, poignant drawing.

These ten stories offer a fascinating glimpse into the world of premonitions and predictions. From deeply personal forebodings to visions with wider implications, they challenge our understanding of time and consciousness. Whether you believe in psychic abilities, divine warnings, or simply extraordinary coincidences, these accounts are undeniably thought-provoking, reminding us that there’s still so much we don’t understand about the universe and our place within it.
